The JET Programme was my quarter-life crisis. I had been working in corporate America for a few years and wondered what other opportunities the world had to offer me. The JET Programme allowed me to take a year out of my career to try something new and different. The time spent in Japan not only gave me perspective on my life and place in the world, but it also granted me the chance to learn more about my ancestral culture.
The transition from Corporate America to a rural Japanese school system was definitely not easy nor smooth. But the experiences and memories that I gained from my time in Japan are some of my most cherished.
