On Saturday, 3 February, CLAIR was joined by the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry to host the 4th JET Programme Career Fair in Osaka.

The career fair was an opportunity for 143 JET Programme Participants seeking employment in Japan to speak with representatives from 31 companies, organisations, and universities looking for global personnel.

The morning of the career fair, to help address participants’ concerns and questions about finding employment, a job-hunting professional led a seminar on the kinds of global personnel sought by Japanese companies and about the job-hunting process in Japan. JET alumni working in the Kansai area also spoke of their experiences with looking for work in Japan during the lecture. Afterwards, the JET participants in attendance visited company booths, participated in mock interviews in Japanese, and received further consultation from a professional career consultant and two JET alumni.

In addition, the Iwate Prefecture Government and Iwate and Iwate Glocal Human Resources Development Council hosted the Global Career Fair in Iwate, co-hosted by CLAIR. The event was an opportunity to match foreign residents of Iwate, foreign students in Iwate schools, and JET participants from around the country with local businesses. Thank you to the XX individuals and 20 companies and organisations who participated.

Global Career Fair in Iwate

On Monday, 12 February, a national holiday, the Iwate Prefectural Government and Iwate Glocal Human Resources Development Council hosted the Global Career Fair in Iwate, co-hosted by CLAIR. The event was an opportunity to match foreign residents of Iwate, foreign students in Iwate schools, and JET participants from around the country with local businesses. Thank you to the 24 JET participants, 21 foreign students and residents of Iwate Prefecture, and 22 companies and organisations who participated.

The next JET Programme Career Fair will be held in Yokohama City on Sunday, 25 February at the Pacifico Yokohama in conjunction with the 2018 After JET Conference.
