The In-Person Translation and Interpretation Course (Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese) was held 31 August-4 September
48 participants from across the country gathered at the Japan Intercultural Academy of Municipalities (JIAM) in Shiga prefecture for 5 days to join the In-Person Translation and Interpretation Course for Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese languages.
Classes were split by language, each conducted with the aim of giving participants the necessary knowledge and techniques to perform translation and interpretation between Japanese and their respective languages. Throughout classes, participants tested their knowledge of the skills necessary for translation and interpretation with a mix of drills and other class exercises. On the final day of the training, participants gathered in groups to hold mock symposiums and practically apply what they had learned throughout the week.
The In-Person Translation and Interpretation Course (English) will be held from 7 December to 12 December this year. We will work to ensure that this course delivers practical knowledge and skills necessary for English to Japanese translation and interpretation work, providing an opportunity for participants to learn from seasoned professionals in the field.
