From 14-15 September 2026, 86 JET Programme participant Prefectural Advisors (JET-PAs) from across Japan gathered in Tokyo for the 2026-2027 fiscal year's 2nd PA Conference.
Over 50 of the participants are newer PAs, with a year or less of experience in the role.

PAs play crucial roles in the daily operation of the JET Programme, encouraging mutual understanding between JET Programme participants and their contracting organisations, among many other duties.

At this conference, PAs learned about Embassy services available to foreign residents living in Japan and received training on how to listen and support participants when recieving consultations on serious topics. Attendees also engaged in seminar planning training, networking, and information exchange sessions, gathering valuble insight from their colleagues into the support systems found across local governments.

Additionally, current PAs from Shimane Prefecture and Wakayama Prefecture contributed case study presentations, which were highly rated by attendees.

We will work to ensure that next year's 1st PA Conference is valuable and constructive for all PAs!
